Mid Term Goals

Purchase the 3 Existing Homes

  • Purchase existing homes from the church and add additional homes to provide three-quarter housing for a gradual transition to self-sustainment for residents.

  

  • We are currently leasing the 3 homes we have from Woodward Park Church of Christ. The lease is for 3 years and we would like to have the funds to buy them at the end of the lease. The church has agreed to sell them at a discounted market price. 

Purchase 3/4 Housing

  • 3/4 housing is our next major step. The savings plan that was discussed in our "Short Term Goals", is good for some but many will still need a place that has the oversite of The House. 

The ideal three-quarter house would be a small apartment complex.

The Benefits of 3/4 housing would be:

  •   Oversee several men with limited staff.
  •   There would still be some rules to follow.
  •   Self-accountability within the close community.
  •   A close bond is formed within a community.
  •   Allow them to reconnect with their families. 
  •   Partners and children could visit and stay.

Long Term Goal

Purchase Large Lot and Develop a Unique Mixed-use Community

  • Buy and develop the 4 acers that sits just east of Woodward Park Church of Christ at Millbrook and Nees in Fresno.


  • Woodward Park Church of Christ purchased this land several years ago for possible expansion. They have decided not to expand and would like to sell it to The House On the Rock.
  • One of the church’s proposed expansion ideas would have been to develop it into a retirement community. If we purchase it, we will take it one step further. 
  •  We would like to develop a unique mixed-use community, integrating low-income housing with low-income retirement options.
  •  The community would have zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.
  •  Both low-income retirees and low-income residents would look after one another.  
  •  The benefits would be great for both groups.


This is just a dream for now as we need a substantial amount of capital to realize it.
