House On the Rock Rules

The house is a transitional home allowing men to make many decisions on their own while have some rules to follow. The following is an outline of some of the rules that must be adhered to.

1. Applicant must fill out “occupant agreement,” and agree to all terms.

2. House on the rock agreement. (Hereinafter referred to as HOTR).

    a. HOTR is a temporary transitional housing program.

    b. 18 Months is the maximum stay at HOTR. 

    c. Residents need to prepare for transitioning out of the HOTR.

        I. Must have a job within 90 days. 

        II. Must apply for Assistance with Fresno Housing Authority within 30 days.

        III. Begin mandatory financial responsibility training within 30 days.

            1. Must start at the next class session.

            2. Must finish the training satisfactory.

            3. Must establish a bank account no later than the end of the training.

    d. Daily schedule and expectations of residents.

        I. Curfew is 10:00 P.M.

        II. Curfew lifted at 6:00 A.M.

        III. If you are not able to meet curfew call.

        IV. Weekend schedule is the same. 

               (Those staying with family need to inform staff with prior approval.)

    e. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated.

    f. No pornography of any kind allowed; violators will be dismissed immediately.

    g. Resident responsibility 

        I. No drugs, alcohol, or paraphernalia of any kind. 

            1. All residents must be willing to submit to random drug testing at any time. 

               A positive result will result in an immediate termination of residence.

        II. Always keep room clean.

        III. Make bed daily.

        IV. If you use it – put it away.

        V. If you mess it up – clean it up. (etc.)

        VI. No food or drink allowed in bedroom at any time. (Water in bedroom excepted.)

        VII. Basic rotating chores are mandatory.

            1. Inside and outside maintenance.

            2. See house manager.

                h. Lights out and all TV, radios off, (headphones excepted,) by 10:00 P.M.

                 i. Physical violence will not be tolerated at any time.

                 j. Theft or damage of other’s property will not be tolerated.

                 k. Room searches.

                     I. Unannounced room searches will be periodic.

    l. Food and fees.

        I. Fees due on the first of the month $550.00. (this fee can change at any time)

        II. Penalty of $20.00 after the 5th.

        III. Eviction after the 15th.

        IV. Food and utilities are included in the fees.

        V. Fees will not be refunded prorated if dismissal is for house violations. 

    m. No visitors allowed at any time. 

    n. Termination of resident can occur anytime. 

3. This is a faith-based program.

    a. HOTR functions as a “Christian Home” program.

    b. Bible based counseling is available to all residents of HOTR – call Joe.

    c. Recovery based group study is available on Wednesday night at church building.

4. All items left in house after moving out will be stored for 72 hours, after 72 hours items will be discarded.
